Get to Know ID: Dan Haukap, Set-Up PM

We skipped a week on team profiles, but we’re back in full force with Dan Haukap, our set-up PM!
What is your name?

What is your quest?

I would love to present/unveil something at E3. I first watched E3 when I entered the industry in 2011 (I had heard of it before but never focused on it). I knew that being involved in the gaming industry was where I wanted my career to go around 2011. Seeing the spectacle of E3 from broadcasts—it just had this feeling of true importance. I hope that I can be a part of that someday.

If not that, then I would love to participate in some streams or interviews with some of the various gaming news outlets to hype up the ID program and all of the great things we are working on.

What is your favorite color?

What other names do you go by?

I have my mandatory inside joke nicknames with my wife and that’s about it. Every now and then my mom still calls me D-Money which makes me laugh embarrassingly.

What is your alignment?

I’ve never played D&D before but it’s something I would love to try some day. I would probably go with Lawful Good.

Do you have a familiar?

Two cats! Coco and Kiki.

What kind of video games do you like to play?

I typically enjoy cinematic, single-player, story-driven games. A couple of my favorite games have been Far Cry 3 and Fallout 3.

What kind of music do you listen to?

90s to 2000s Rock mostly, Foo Fighters are my favorite band and have seen them eight times including twice in Canada and once in Argentina!

What kind of books do you read?

I’m not a huge reader but it’s something I should probably start doing more.

Do you have a secret skill that few people know about?

Outside of my gaming life, I’m an athlete and dabble a little bit with music. I’m a starting pitcher for a local baseball team in the Seattle area. In high school I was in a couple of punk rock bands and still find joy in occasionally picking up my acoustic guitar and strumming a few chords. I’m not good by any means but I can keep a beat and play basic chords.

What’s your favorite random fact about yourself?

I’m left-handed, but with this team that isn’t that unusual (lots of lefties here).

Where can people find you on the Internet?

I’m pretty hard to find on the interwebz!
