Pygmy Studio has decided to release the Xbox One version of Bokosuka Wars II on February 24th in the following 23 countries: The United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Israel, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, Greece, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Finland, France, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, and Russia!
Bokosuka Wars II will be released as a download version, and its regular price will be $14.99. Currently, it is available for pre-order in the Microsoft store at 30% off regular price. Microsoft Store
Bokosuka Wars won the Grand Prix in the first ASCII Software Contest and was released in 1983 on the SHARP X1. Ports for MSX, PC-8801, S1, PC-6001mkII, PC-9801, FM-7, etc., were subsequently released, followed by a release on Famicom (NES) in 1985. The game was considered a role-playing game or an action role-playing game when initially released, but was later deemed the original “simulation RPG” due to is strategic nature. In combination with its playability, the game’s unique feel has attracted a solid base of core fans.
In 2016, the sequel Bokosuka Wars II was released in Japan, 33 years after the original. It features the charm of the original version while adding a third kingdom, new graphics, a new character that allows for a two-player mode, along with various other new aspects. While the original Bokosuka Wars was only sold in Japan, the sequel will be released overseas as well.
